(38,601 posts)If you dont want to click, the TL/DR is: The difference is that you worship Trump, whereas we voted Biden in to do a job, and can critique him when we disagree with him too cuz its not a cult like you are in. Also: Get a new personality.

(1,920 posts)she wasn't seeing Facebook posts and Tik-Toks from "Biden supporters." She was implying that Biden doesn't really have anyone who likes what he does. The lady who responded set her straight.

(14,855 posts)Many right-wing authoritarians, who gave Trump the strongest support right out of the gates of the 2016 GOP primaries, are attracted to dictatorial leaders they perceive to be "strongmen", so many of them are surely confused by the majority of NORMAL people who don't want that in their lives.

(33,257 posts)the way they worship Trump. Democrat voter said our side don't worship politicians, we hire them to do the right thing for us. If we disagree with Biden on an issue we say so. No on should blindly follow a leader. This is paraphrasing both of them.
Click on the link, it's reddit. It's pretty liberal site, so much so the the conservative side has to have their own subreddits. Avoid those.

(58,349 posts)And basically the truth - much as we might have loved Clinton. Obama, or anyone else in the Senate or House, we don't worship or get all teary-eyed about their existence and we are quick to criticize them.

I will say that there was no shortage of "Obama worshipers" in his day. Way too many "as long as Obama is for it, I'm okay" kind of posts. Biden on the other hand has seemed to win over a large number of admirers through what I'm describing as "radical competence". It may be because of his predecessor, but it is almost shocking to see his level of expertise at handling so much of the government and legislation. It's not that I necessarily like everything his done, but I have to admire the skill in which he gets it done. And his press secretary is like something out of an Arron Sorkin movie. It must drive the MAGATs crazy.

(114 posts)I've noticed from dealing with the Trumpists in my family that they are very prone to projection -- I experienced it last year leading up to the election. If you say anything less than complimentary about their candidate (e.g, Trump), they automatically assume that it means that you worship the other one (e.g., Biden) in the same manner. Uh, NO -- I just wanted a sane, non-narcissistic president who did the job and didn't insist on trolling and making everything about him.
It's just another thing about Trumpists that is kind of scary -- I'll definitely keep this young woman's excellent response in mind!

(11,564 posts)Let them know they had unwittingly not only voted for, but actually elected a President they don't like.
Glad she was able to clear that up.
