There's a question on a standard SF-86 that asks if you've ever been a member of an organization that advocated the overthrow of the government through violent means.

If your security officer found out you participated, he'd be duty bound to report it and you'd most likely lose your clearance. Unfortunately, it is also likely that your security officer could be sympathetic to Jan 6th.

What clearance I had is classified. Actually, everything, after I finished language school, is still classified even though I have been out of the army for 54 years. I don't know what the FBI did besides checking with a few parents of some of my friends from a list I gave the army. I did not have a polygraph test. No one ever talked to me of any of my relatives. I don't know if there have been any changes.
