What if, the Senate Republicans are really wanting the Senate Democrats to go it alone on Jan 6th

and to set up their committee with subpoena powers (since they are the majority, I think they can go ahead and do that) to finally kneecap Trump and his minions..

Maybe they do not want the power to stop subpoenas (on a bi-partisan committee) because it would bring the crazies down on their heads.. Maybe they want the Democrats to do the thing they cannot do .. when you have sold your soul to the devil, you might look anywhere for help in getting it back.

They are taking credit for the all the progress made with the Biden COVID bill..

Just a thought on a cloudy Saturday in Iowa..

They do want that. They're forcing it so they can call the commission 'partisan' CousinIT May 2021 #1
Maybe you are right... I say its time we cleaned this mess up, even if we have to do it alone Peacetrain May 2021 #2
Nancy will probably ask Liz Cheney and a couple other never-dRumpfeRs to join in. Justice matters. May 2021 #3
Ah... that's a move that Pelosi can make without hesitation. We can fairly guess Eyeball_Kid May 2021 #6

For a "bi-partisan" Select Committee in the House.

It would give Cheney the opportunity to try to take back her party out of the hands of the (soon) cRiminal mob$teR and its cRiminal co-conspiratoR$.

that she's planning on doing just that.

The GOP in the Senate would be wise to vote for the Committee to investigate. They have everything that they want to foot-drag and obfuscate. They can dispute subpoenas, for Christ sake. But if they vote against the bipartisan committee, then the ball is in Pelosi's court. Kinzinger and Cheney would be hard-pressed to turn down a Pelosi request for them to participate in her investigation. They couldn't refuse.
