Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIf you need or want to carry your COVID vax card, these lanyards work well
They don't damage the card, and you can slip it out to add entries for boosters, etc. And you can likely get them elsewhere easily if Amazon is too evil for you (wouldn't blame anyone for that)

I never thought a record of health info would be treated like backstage laminates at Coachella.

(14,855 posts)I chose a bigger size, large enough for a travel passport, and stuck the other vaccination paperwork in there too -- e.g., the "prescription" information given to me by the local pharmacy each time, with my information and the vaccine administer's information printed on it too. (An actual MD gave me the shots.)

(7,261 posts)We went to local OM to get our cards reduced to business card size and laminated. Went to pay and they said there's no charge, almost couldn't believe it.
Apparently we aren't the only ones wanting to carry a copy of our vax records in our wallets. Thanks, Office Max!

(9,247 posts)If you get a booster it would need to be redone. Wonder how long they'll do it for free?

(9,831 posts)we need to get a booster or an additional vax somewhere down the road and would need the card to have that additional information recorded on it. I made a photocopy of mine and put it in my wallet. The original is in my documents file along with passport, birth cert.
My vaccine record is also available on the electronic record with my health care provider. Need to check to see it CDC has an equivalent e -record.

(12,445 posts)There needs to be a CDC Vaccination APP tied into the database.
Our evidence of vaccination will be a QR code displayed on our phones.
Or for the luddites, a plastic card with the QR code printed on it.

(14,855 posts)... I looked up the progress of such passports a few hours ago.
Not much yet, and mostly linked to the airlines. And many of them are still in the trial phase too.

By the way, the IATA has most of the biggest USA airlines as members. (Not Southwest Airlines, though.)
I'd prefer to see a Federal agency do it too, though, but that may not happen unless Biden changes his stance about it.
Every state in the country keeps a database of the Covid vaccine recipients except for New Hampshire and some large cities like NYC that record the information themselves. I assume that the individual vaccination sites in NH are required to maintain those records, at least.

(51,608 posts)"laminated" it by putting two layers of clear packing tape on both sides after reducing it by 70% to fit in my wallet. I already made three pins to wear saying "I'm Vaccinated". I won't be going out much but just in case I thought it would set a good example.

I'd not have an issue with it being asked for or required
