For the young'uns, LUNTZ was the polling (guru? enabler? propagandist?) for the GINGRICH-LIMBOsevic "revolution" (54 House seats, 8 Senate) of '94, touting his "focus groups" as a veneer of scientific authority. He foisted a word list of pejorative connotations to use in anti-Dem propaganda, the notable one being to use the NOUN "Democrat" where the ADJECTIVE "Democratic" goes - i.e., "I am a DEMOCRAT Party voter" instead of DemocratIC Party. The ungrammatical sound turned into a propaganda epithet.

That has always been the Republicans, therefore his allegiance was bought by them. If their money flow ebbs, so will his loyalty. The damage done to his brand is another matter, but that was his motivation from day one, and day one is something like 30 years back.
