some people that follow Southern Living magazine on FB. Personally, I think a coming of age story set in Alabama is brilliant, and I can't wait to see it:
The Wonder Years is back and headed to Alabama.
ABC confirmed this week that a reboot of the beloved 1980s series from executive producer Lee Daniels will premiere during the 2021-2022 season.

(16,008 posts)Why a bunch of retreads? Come up with exciting ideas. They have some with Bridgerton, the crown, handsmaid tail, but then they have to do hawaii 5-0, one day at a time, fuller house and now wonder years. Not necessary at all!

(109,000 posts)The family will be completely different and their story will be set in another locale.
Calling it the Wonder Years will just help bring them an audience more quickly, and I can't blame them for that.

Now we'll follow a black family through the same period
Plus it stars Dule Hill - can't wait

(29,676 posts)More like a parallel between the two shows. They happen at the same time but while the original was a white middle class suburban family this is a Black family in Alabama, same time.
I think it's a great idea.

(32,096 posts)There's always going to be someone making a big stink about things, and I'm not surprised this show already has such detractors. Nobody's forcing them to watch it...

Without a regular TV my access to current shows is limited. Eventually it will show up on Netflix or some such, and I should get to see it.
