Is Moscow Mitch really going to be resigning because of...

He and his wife being investigated for corruption, bribes, payoffs, and campaign finance laws broken, and money laundering, and his ties to russia and others with taking and giving out money and election influence? He knows they'll both be exposed soon maybe, and will claim is health is his excuse to leave?

If that is his excuse, so be it. I just want him gone.

off of that, not resign. The GQP doesn't roll that way. Matt Gaetz is still on the judiciary committee while being investigated by the DOJ, a clear conflict of interest.

He's the second most powerful guy in the US government (maybe tied with Pelosi, now that he's not Majority leader any more). Even LBJ gave up his post as Senate Majority Leader only very reluctantly to become JFK's VP. He saw it as a step down.

to KY laws that called for a special election to replace a Senator who leaves mid-term. I remember thinking at the time that he was either getting ready to take the money and run or possibly preparing for his evenutal indictment.

They have since changed the law to let the Governor name a replacement.

No wonder he was in such a rush to make sure, if there someone assigned to replace him, they have to be appointed from the same party AND that they would be from a list of three people complied by the GOP, instead of at the governor’s discretion.
