The proposal is expected to pass the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives on Wednesday but one Alabama congressman, Republican Jerry Carl of Mobile, said in a statement he would not support it.
What we have heard is it is very partisan and we will have nothing to do with that, Tuberville said in a conference call with Alabama reporters. I dont want this to be a witch hunt. Its over with. We pretty much know what happened.
Most of us were here anyway. We saw what happened. We dont need a commission to tell us. But well see what happens in the near future. I dont think youre going to get many Republicans to vote for any commission unless it is 100 percent bipartisan.

If I was a betting man, I would bet good money he's guilty of colluding with the rioters. He was at the meeting at the Trump Hotel.

Might be nice for the rest of us to have it on record though.

(10,206 posts)The guy's a liar and a dumbass. He doesn't know what bipartisan means. The commission was the result of bipartisan negotiations in the House. It will be split evenly between Republican and Democratic appointees, and both parties will share subpoena power.

(3,243 posts)Hey Tuberville, how about the people that don't want to have any more partisan insurrections, you stupid fool?
If nothing else, we need a commission to find out why so many republicans suck up to Trump. There's something going on there that is not good for democracy, and we need to get to the bottom of it.

(25,253 posts)Next insurrection could be partisan too - only the other Party.
Don't you want to put measures in place to prevent that?
Ohioboy
(3,243 posts)I don't see how an insurrection could not be partisan. You put forth the idea of a bipartisan effort to prevent another insurrection and they call that partisan too. You can't work with these idiots, especially when they know their side is guilty as hell.

(25,253 posts)It's a commission to also put in place procedures/laws/policies/measures to prevent anything like this from happening again.
Look what the 9/11 Commission determined and put in place to prevent future 9/11's.
The Repugs and the former guy are acting like guilty parties. They can't handle the truth.
