One leftist You Tube personality asked the other day, while reviewing a Prager U video, "Do stupid people flock to conservatism or does conservatism make you stupid?" We are seeing the answer a bit more clearly.

I mean, I personally think it is a bit of both, but I would lean more toward "conservatism makes you stupid". Initially, I think that people who are dominated by fear or grievance tend toward conservatism. Conservatism relies on a binary understanding of the world, on authoritative leaders, and simple rules, where as liberalism and left leaning ideologies understand complexities in human behavior and motivations.

We have people like Ted Cruz (Harvard), Kennedy (Oxford), and Hawley (Harvard) and others. We have reports that Cruz was a good student though Hawley wasn't that good. When they speak however, they sound like fools. Their grasp of law, society, culture, etc... is piss poor. Why? Conservatism. Conservatism doesn't allow for complexity. It is an authoritarian ideology derived from the once divinely ordained monarchy. It relies on the presupposition that the people with money and power, somehow "deserve it" because, "why else would they have it?" So, Conservatism cannot abide by any questioning of the status quo. It can't answer the why, so it tries to crush the "why".
