Link doesn't say the Prez is who said there was a flood of viewers wanting Me-me ditched, says "ABC" got the flood.
The whole panel is live as we speak, all being very nice, like nothing happened.

ABC News Prez Steps In ...
PERSONAL ATTACKS TOO TOXIC!!!
.... Production sources tell TMZ ... following Monday's heated exchange between Meghan and Joy over anti-Semitism, ABC News President Kim Godwin called a last-minute meeting with 'View' talent and producers, trying to improve the culture behind the scenes at the show. ....
Our sources say Godwin -- who just took the helm at ABC earlier this month -- told everyone things are getting too personal on TV lately, not with the issues they're debating ... but with the attacks between co-hosts.
Godwin told everyone it's coming off as toxic to the audience, and it's not the direction she wants for the show. ....
It sounds like her message was not well received by MM, though -- we're told she stormed out of the meeting before it ended because she felt like she was being "attacked." ....

(58,785 posts)I don't know because I don't watch it. Like LizBeth, I'm repelled by the squabbling.
Of course toxic bigotry, including antisemitism, is far more prevalent on the right. But studies say LW antisemitism has had a big upswing again in this hate-ful era also, and of course we also see it raising its ugly head among some on the left ourselves.

(70,748 posts)almost all of the panel (not talking McCAIN here) is fairly Lib with HAINES being sort of Center. So as far as many or most of the topics go, a great deal of time goes to skewering the latest daily atrocities coming from the wingnuts because that's where almost all of the atrocities come from. Where you say, "toxic bigotry, including antisemitism, is far more prevalent on the right" - yes.
Where I would have sincere questions are:
* "studies say* - link? What studies?
* "LW antisemitism ... big upswing ... and ... we also see it ... on the left ourselves" - Can I be pointed to examples?
******* Here it gets into the weeds of Israel/Palestine - Is being Pro- one side or the other equal to antisemitism towards the other side?
* "repelled by squabbling" - Well, I myself detest arguing and opt out of it here when it's clear that discussion is futile. But then I claim that some issues call for drawing a line, sometimes ending in unpleasantness and "squabbling" - however, the opposite side also claims principles for themselves. I myself want to see Libs standing up and fighting back and exposing wingnuts for what they are.
********** This objection to "squabbling" has happened before, on the CNN "Crossfire" show where wingnuts would go at it against the Libs- with the difference that total conflict was the PURPOSE of the show - until Jon STEWERT staged a fit, claiming that this show in particular was tearing the country apart. That was my first puzzlement about STEWERT and it led to it being cancelled. Then STEWERT went on in later years to "reach out" to O'REILLY, playing nice-nice. Then he really lost me when Glenn BecKKK put on a "unity" rally at D.C., where he portrayed himself as a uniter and healer and then STEWERT put on a reply rally from the Left that was just a Hippy-Dippy event with blowing soap bubbles and the Mythbuster dweebs. When it was over Bill MAHER said about STEWERT, "When you have an event it needs to be ABOUT something." And that event sealed off STEWERT for me forever: Is he a Third Way dude, a wishy washy, namby pamby?
******ON EDIT, to be clear: On this topic all I have to say is that I'm for all parties having their own patch of land. Nothing more.

(52,168 posts)Honestly, many of the exchanges between both McCain and Behar and McCain and Goldberg are toxic. And it doesn't take a genius to see who the common problem is there. It is one thing for there to be disagreements, it is another thing to constantly talk over people and act disrespectfully.

(2,576 posts)legitimate political system when it is entirely anti-American and anti-democratic and at the same time began, "canceling," liberals and Democratic via assassination, jail (all the poor working class and especially the poor African Americans,) with the creation of the DEA and in the 80s the creation of hundreds of new laws and harsher sentencing and upgrading misdemeanors to felonies.
There is nothing democratic about political conservatism.
