(512 posts)Im a black chick who loves motorcycles and those who ride, and Ive seen many acts of kindness from the gruffest of bikers. In the past Ive been disgusted by those who claim to be so open minded who openly judge people by what they wear, drive, etc.

(12,904 posts)I cant remember all the details now, but for some reason, we knew it was gonna happen a couple weeks before they came. (Would they have alerted city leaders?)
Anyway, it was discussed by everyone, some with trepidation, (were mostly white here, but getting better), in the days leading up to the event.
So, the day comes, and hundreds, maybe thousands, of black bikers rolled into town. They were everywhere, for about a week. Meaning, in our grocery stores, fuel stations, department stores and hardware stores. The actual rally was at a big campground just outside of town, but they came into town for supplies. Boy, did the worried citizens do a quick turnaround! Those bikers were the talk of the town, and in a GOOD way!
As far as I know, there was never a speck of trouble from any of them, or between them and the locals. They were so nice, and it was cool to see all of their sweet rides everywhere. People still talk about it, and wonder when they will come back.
