What works in Mother Nature. Equal the tables with mice predators

Find the ones that naturally already live in that area and boost their breeding. Owls, hawks, cats, dogs, foxes, skunks and snakes would be more than willing to help. Get rid of the poison bates. Those might actually kill the predators too, upsetting the ecosystem.

And make cat owners keep them inside. Our birds have no real defense against them. They evolved with no defense against small cats. Bobcats are the smallest cat we have and birds are not a big part of their diet. They will kill and eat them, but the normal prey on small rodents and rabbits. And are not that great a stalking songbirds.

Cats kill over a billion birds every year in the US. They are way worse than Pythons in the Everglades. By multitudes. I would love to see no cats outside in America. I love our native birds.

And I don’t hate cats. We have one. Best cat ever. She’s big and comes when called. When I tell to ‘get on out’ like I would a dog she goes out of the room. But she stays inside and does not kill our native wildlife. Especially birds.

My sweet Othello goes outside only with me riding in my cat satchel with a harness and leash on.

However have you heard of TNR.

Trap neuter and release. They catch cats in feral colonies, neuter or spay them and the cat population would be much bigger without them.
There are cat colonies and the people who work with feral cats do it because they love cats.

The TNR program has done alot to control the cat population and to get once feral kittens homes. In that process the kittens are spayed or neutered.

Over time the feral cats will drop in numbers.

There are things being done about this.

I like birds too. But feral cats need to eat too.

Cats are my first love.
Birds my second love.

The effects of habitat destruction, pollution and all the effects of global climate change has decimated more birds than cats do.

He is too lazy to hunt anything. I mean he doesn't even get up when a bird pecks at his butt when there are babies in the nests nearby.

of them. Millions and millions.

They are going to need more than predators.
