Houses, cars caught in crossfire of big shootout in Parkway Village

https://www.localmemphis.com/mobile/article/news/crime/houses-cars-caught-in-crossfire-of-big-shootout-in-parkway-village/522-c3589fed-54ad-499e-878c-04027900d421

According to the Memphis Police Department, at about two in the afternoon May 18, two cars pulled up in the 3300 block of Dungreen Street. That’s when cops say several people got out of the cars and started shooting at two men, when one returned fire. While police did not report any injuries, several houses and cars were hit and had bullet holes.

Why does the "justice" system keep releasing people who behave this way?

More info at link, but perps haven't been apprehended yet, although I'm fairly certain they are likely to have long rap sheets.

Fortunately, it does not sound as if anyone was hurt, but can you imagine being in a home under attack this way?

You're a target at home, you're a target in your car, you're a target wherever you go. Even if people are charged for shooting their guns around the neighborhood, they'll be on the streets with more guns before you know it. Our country is being held hostage by a minority of people who love killing machines more than anything else and the gerrymandered Republicans cater to their every whim.

With two counts of murder for a shooting that also injured 10. He was out on bond with a trial date next month for a shooting from 2019. The judge set this bail at $1m but there is a group that goes around bailing out anyone they can afford so he may possibly be back on the street.

I hate crime. Especially gun crime.

But posts like this rub me the wrong way.

Why does the op “rub the wrong way?”

And it bothers me the same way any “these kinds of people“ posts bother me, especially when assumptions are being made about unidentified people.

If I had to bet the house on whether or not the shooters had been arrested before, I’d bet they have....for something. But to make the leap that it was for shooting up a neighborhood and that someone just let them go after they did that, I wouldn’t take that bet at all.

So it comes back to this is just another “these kinds of people” post, and those are never going to not rub me the wrong way.

We good?
