Brad Schneider tells Haaretz why hes drafting a House resolution to censure GOP Rep. Greene after she compared COVID restrictions to Nazi actions during the Holocaust, including making Jews wear a gold star
....
Rep. Brad Schneider announced earlier this week that he is drafting a resolution to censure the Georgia congresswoman over her remarks. This is a very rare procedure in which the House votes to express formal disapproval of a lawmakers conduct; the move has only been undertaken 23 times in U.S. history, most recently in 2010.
Schneider tells Haaretz that while Greenes rhetoric has been repeatedly hateful, bigoted and antisemitic, her latest disrespectful and reprehensible comparisons mark a new, unacceptable low that dishonors the House and the memory of those murdered in the Shoah.
....
The Democratic congressman from Illinois is particularly offended by her inability to admit wrongdoing. Its not that shes saying I misspoke, let me correct the record. She doubles down and says it again, and says it the third time, he notes. She is now not only dishonoring the memory of those murdered in the Holocaust and perverting history, shes dishonoring the House, and thats why we need to sanction her....(more)

(11,564 posts)I hope that the House, passes. She detracts from the mission of the House, by her behavior and statements. In my opinion ,she unfit for her job.

(3,496 posts)Sorry, she's just there to trigger reactions in her (and Republicans) perceived enemies.
Any private work place would have probably taken some sort of action or fired these malcontents by now. But not Congress. Bad personal behavior is rewarded by more press and hand wringing.

(63,875 posts)she is bringing in big money I heard on Randi Rhodes podcast. She spews BS and is making money off it. That's why McCarthy has not said crap to her. It's all about the money.

(63,221 posts)That there are so many people who are inspired and motivated by her. It's just so wrong. I mean why can't anyone in the republican party grow a conscience and realize that there are some things that are more important than money?
This woman is like Trump, and many other republicans. She is a metastasizing cancer on the face of the nation and as long as we give her a platform, we risk the chances of another Jan 6th. Her hate speech is a clear and present danger.
I just want all these horrible people to go away. It was such a relief to get rid of Trump, but now all these Trump clones have sprung up in his place and it feels like we will never get rid of them.
Anyway, sorry for the rant. Hope you are doing well, bdamomma!
