Trump supporter screams racist & antigay slurs at Joe Biden at ice cream shop

A man accosted President Joe Biden during a stop at the Honey Hut ice cream shop in Cleveland, Ohio. The Trump supporter hurled racist and antigay slurs at the president and members of the press traveling with him.

“F*ck you, motherf*ckers! … c*cksuckers!” the man screamed according to reports from the locally owned business. “The angry person also repeatedly yelled slurs for Black and gay people at the press and White House staff,” the pool reporter noted.

The president chatted up staff and supporters and took questions from the press while making the unexpected stop. With Republicans opposing a commission that would look into the January insurrection at the Capitol, he was asked about the upcoming vote and the GOP’s attempt to block it.

What advice would he give the Republicans?
“Try the chocolate chocolate chip.”

Biden ordered “chocolate chocolate chip” and “butter pecan” ice cream at the shop.

And he knows a whole lot more than some freak screaming slurs at him in an ice cream shop. I'd say there probably isn't a whole lot that Joe Biden has not seen or heard, so it is probably easy for him to let a lot of it just slide off. The exceptions might be anything cruel or very personal.

In his mind, he could be thinking, "Hey Jack, I'm President and you're not." Ever since he became president, he has been extraordinarily cool and collected.

It probably is, his having been in public life so long.

But I am appalled at what these people who work on our behalf are having to endure just because of their political position. Would any one of us put up with this kind of stuff at work? Having people yell ugly things at us in public?

Having some moron yell at you through your office letterbox? Having someone stalk you down the hallways, challenging your loyalty to the country? (AOC)

Having your life threatened (Nancy Pelosi) by trump supporters gone amok in your place of work? Having some slob sit in your assistant's chair with his feet on the desk?

It's bad enough that republicans are intractable and completely unwilling to work on any project that benefits the American public, and all because they are so petty that they don't want Democrats taking credit for anything that's a popular program. That alone would take a good deal of satisfaction out of the work. If there's no satisfaction, what is there?

At some point good public representatives are going to say they've had enough and will no longer put up with this abuse. That will be a bad development for all of us on the left side of the spectrum.

32. Oh, I couldn't tolerate the abuse

and though Biden has learned to bite his tongue and take things in stride, I'm sure it infuriates his wife and children. Of course, as calm as he often appears, that may not be how he feels inside. Being President of the United States is a unique position and a president does not have the luxury of reacting like the average person.

I agree, the abuse and continuous threats are outrageous. Living with that hanging over you and your family every day must be a nightmare. They don't get enough credit for what they endure probably because they are politicians and aren't seen as brave public servants.

I think most republican politicians live in fear of another FDR and they've maligned every Democratic presidential candidate since The New Deal. They don't want to be a permanent minority again. Being "losers" is a far worse prospect than doing beneficial things for the people and the country they serve. They even tried to paint Reagan as their party's answer to FDR, JFK, and LBJ, but let's face it, their heroes really suck. So they just rewrote history and magically transformed Reagan into some mythological saint. Many of us remember him and don't recognize this fictional version they are selling.

9. I think he may have the best sense of humor of any President in my life.

His timing is lightning quick and he always brings the funny.

One of my favorite examples was when candidate Biden was preparing to name his VP. He’s riding his bike with his family and goes past a Fox reporter who asks him “who’s going to be your VP pick?” Joe smiles, while peddling and driving his bike and says “you are.” The Fox reporter then reported that he is the VP pick.

He has a great sense of humor though now and then it gets him in trouble. Too often the media takes it literally or twists it to mean something it doesn't, so they can keep calling him a "gaffe machine", a reputation that was largely created by the media to begin with. Not that he hasn't made mistakes, they all do, but the media is quick to point out the Biden mistakes to conform to the gaffe prone persona they helped create.

Yesterday I had a vanilla cherry glucerna smoothie for a snack it was delicious.
