(82,849 posts)Should the House put together its own investigative committee, we know that Senate Republicans will run crying to the media, complaining about partisanship and looking to criminalize criminal behavior just because it was carried out by the former guy's partisans. Will the media laugh in their insipid faces and tell them this is what they get for not cooperating in a bipartisan manner? Unlikely. Or will the media listen to the Republican carping and conclude that there must be some substance to their complaints, or they wouldn't be so loudly butthurt? Highly likely.

They can't demand recount after recount to demonstrate the need for voter suppression laws to prevent voter fraud they have yet to find evidence for while counting ballots and finding zero evidence of fraud.
They can't cry Back the Blue and Law & Order and Personal Accountability while preventing investigation into who is responsible for violent insurrection, mass lawbreaking, the massacre of at least five people, while injuring over 150 LEOs and traumatizing the entire DC and Capitol police and Capitol workforce.
Put it on TV every goddamn day. Right through election. Make every GOP candidate and incumbent run against their vote to memory hole sedition and insurrection.
