Joining Gods Word and the founding political documents of a single nation together in one volume signals a divine endorsement of what we have no evidence of God endorsing.
Jamie Aten and Kent Annan
A newly-licensed God Bless the USA Biblebilled as the ultimate American Bible includes between its covers, in addition to holy Scripture: the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as the handwritten chorus to Lee Greenwoods God Bless the USA. Elite Source Pro, along with other producers of custom Bibles, is allowed to license the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible from Zondervan for private use. (Zondervan owns the rights to the NIV, a popular English translation first released in 1978.)
But really, what is an American Bible?
In the fall of 2020 Hugh Kirkpatrick, president of Elite Source Pro, and some friends were troubled by a divide in the public. [S]ome people started seeing pro-American images like the flag, the bald eagle, the statue of liberty as weaponized tools of the Republican party, Kirkpatrick said and we didnt understand that.
Concerned that public schools were allegedly no longer teaching American history, their answer was to create the God Bless the USA Bible.
Keenly aware that critics will connect this Bible to White Christian nationalism, Kirkpatrick claims that the publication is meant to get more people reading the Bible and the countrys founding documents. And while Kirkpatrick claims that this publication has nothing to do with current politics, simply saying this does not make it so.

(9,895 posts)Honestly? There are 2 ways to make sure that I will avoid any intentional contact with someone.
First is to self-identify as a Trump fan. That alone makes you a worthless moron in my eyes.
Second is to prattle on about Jesus. Equal reaction guaranteed.
Jesus was a fabrication of the Roman Empire to control the populace and secure power as the empire fell into decline and eventual ruin.
God is a ridiculous idea that people cling to like a pacifier or security blanky; sad, pathetic and really distasteful if anyone truly examines the supposed 'reward' for worship of a sky daddy..."eternal life", really? Unchanging, uninspiring, non-impactful 'eternal' life?
Day 1 no different than Day 4,878,999,873,080,124,524? In all honesty, if this sounds like bliss, I would invite these people to find and join he nearest "Heaven's Gate"-style cult and just get on with it...save some precious resources for the rest of us struggling to exist on Earth while our cells remain in the unlikely alignment that they are to begin with...
Sounds fun ('eternal' life...gag).
I don't like to have eggs for breakfast on consecutive days....but mindless worship of "jeebus" every day for eternity? Fucking please...stupidest shit ever that many people cling to; but hey that DOES make it easy to see how so many of them also blindly accept anything they are told to believe by "team" leaders.
Goddamn its a bad day....time to leave and go for a long walk to breath in and out and calm down...

(2,636 posts)Except public schools do teach (whitewashed) American history. In most states, 5th grade, 8th grade, 11th grade, and 12th grade.
There are now two US History courses at the high school level, and Seniors still take Government, or what used to be called Civics.
Concerned enough to weave the founding documents into a Bible, but not concerned enough to actually verify their claim.
The Pilgrims and other religious refugees established religious colonies, and the religious colonies failed, swallowed by the mercantile colonies. 1620 is 150 years before Jefferson and Madison.
When fascism comes to America, it will come carrying a cross, wrapped in a flag.

(39,343 posts)This shows how manipulated and made up the whole damn thing is.
Want a version in the King's English? Grab a King James Modified Version.
Want a version in today's English? Go pick up a New Life Version.
Want a version that puts Jesus as white guy from Nebraska? Grab this made up thing.
The truth doesn't have versions.
Christianity is a Cult.
