(17,056 posts)It is a VERY diverse city and it has been for a long time. Most people accept it and celebrate it in my experience. I guess not all do.

(4,673 posts)friend, Japanese American, who grew up in Sunnyvale and lives in San Jose did not experience/observe it until recently.
