Present day republicans are the biggest bunch of cowards in the history of American politics.

They're scared of Donnie Trump. They're scared of their base. They're scared of the truth coming out from a 1/6 Commission. The former republican head of the 9/11 Commission just said, "Some people were scared of what they may find out." That's the understatement of the century.

The head of the 9/11 Commission has told the Guardian senators’ failure to launch a similar investigation into the 6 January insurrection at the US Capitol is “democracy’s loss”.

Thomas Kean led a bipartisan team that held public hearings, studied classified intelligence, interviewed two presidents and chased down conspiracy theories in producing a 567-page report on the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.

The former Republican governor of New Jersey argued for an equivalent commission to study the Capitol riot but that effort was thwarted on Friday when Senate Republicans used their first legislative filibuster of Joe Biden’s presidency, stopping Democrats obtaining the 60-vote majority needed to set up the panel.

“It saddens me because there was no real public reason for turning it down,” Kean, 86, said by phone from Far Hills, New Jersey. “I guess some people were scared of what they’d find out. That’s not a good reason for turning it down.

6. Every politician in Washington knows exactly what happened.

There were GOPers who actively pursued the overthrow of the US government. All of the Congress knows who they are. And they know HOW those traitors tried to overthrow the US government. But the GOP is saying nothing because TOO MANY of their own will be exposed as traitors. So they all remain quiet to protect their party and in doing so, conceal the truth and become accomplices.

Dems know what happened as well. They all know. But their public statements must be obtuse for fear that they could be sued by the GOP without evidentiary proof that the entire GOP is complicit in the insurrection movement. It's a "reasoned approach", but is also devoid of any courage to speak out and expose GOPers for the traitors they are.

Pelosi and Schumer are trying to follow a responsible process. Pelosi will soon announce her rebuttal to the GOP's subservience to Trump by forming an investigative panel of her own. Many of us believe that it's taking too long for the exposure of the nation to the truth, but Pelosi is thinking about the next election cycle, and how the GOP/Trump can be damaged to maximum effect before the 2022 elections. They MUST brand the Trump/GOP as seditionist (even Putin/Russian agents will do-- because it's true.) and make it stick. While the GOP is gloating that they have a gerrymandering advantage, it won't matter if no one votes for them. So the re-branding of the Trump/GOP by the Dems, and by disenchanted Republicans, is essential.

I mean, the smug, selfish, stupidity I've seen over the last couple decades from the GOP descends past Biff Tanner level.
There may be a few business clever people, but the shear willful ignorance has increased to a level not seen in most lower invertebrates.

They are evil.

They don't believe in democracy.

They believe in a Prosperity Gospel Christian theocracy controlled by corporations that write the laws.

They believe in lying, stealing, and cheating to win elections.

They are evil.

They are not cowards.

They are the greatest threat this country has ever faced.

They are EVIL !!!
