SUCCESS....this particular gathering wasnt in honor of Memorial Day, but a birthday celebration for myself (May 25) and my late grandfather whose birthday is today! Tomorrow, on actual Memorial Day, we will be cooking and passing around pictures (as we do every year) of my late great great grandfather who served many years and loved being in the military.
As Ive said before. Our gatherings usually turn for the worst when politics are brought up. Instead of me yelling to get the F***k out of the country If you dont accept our president.. I was able to say, hey get some seconds, theres plenty of it.
Not a peep of politics, except someone brought up how enraged everyone is about Kamalas tweet and said how ridiculous it was for them to be on her case about this... I smiled and just agreed. Was happy it was a positive thing to say...but didnt want ANYTHING else to get said that could turn into a yelling match.
I will be honoring those who have fallen and their families who have lost.
Wishing everyone here a wonderful and peaceful Memorial Day.
Cheers!
