Why did mittens pick ryan?

I got a chill up my spine when he did that, but I shrugged if off. I later told myself it didn't matter because he didn't even get a bounce from his choice.

But lately, I've reexamined my moment of fear, and this is what was (and is) behind it. He knows he will win, and he will claim a mandate for the ryan budget.

Anyone remember when bushie picked dick? Dick wasn't popular either, but he called the shots for the next eight years.

Well, unless we want a repeat of that on steroids we better get behind Obama NOW. And this is coming from one of his critics on this board (me). Let's not forget what's at stake here, folks.

2. that may be a byproduct, but it wasn't the reason. the reason was money.

i think rayn was the one likely to best help him raise campaign money.

the veep pick in and of itself has negligible impact on the odds of winning, but money always helps.

of course, once they're in, they get the powers. that said, i don't see rayn as anything like cheney. he doesn't have the personality to assert power as veep, nor does rmoney have the personality to let him. he would be a more traditional senate tie-breaker and funeral attendee.

as far as "the rayn" budget goes, whatever. ANY budget rmoney advances would be a disaster, whether it's rayn's or not, whether rayn's would be the veep or not.

3. Well rest assured it wasn't for the best for the country

It was for the best for him and his friends, the 1%.

You can take that to the bank. Romney isn't a patriot who wants to serve his country. He's a CEO looking at the bottom line. He thinks he has a way of achieving his goals through the Presidency, which would actually help him since he has much more power over legislating for the 1% as President.

It's a good idea not to confuse Romney with someone who's patriotic. His patriotism is strictly for money.

7. He Wanted To Pick Portman, But Portman Would Add Nothing To The Ticket

Trust me on this, the Republicans put almost no thought whatsoever into choosing a running mate. In 2008, McCain picked Sarah Failin' for one reason: he thought he could win over disgruntled Hillary voters by offering them a candidate with the same anatomy. And the exact same amount of logic went into the selection of Paul Lyin'.

Rmoney wanted to take Rob Portman because he thought, "If I offer Ohio voters someone from Ohio, they'll vote for the Ohio guy instead of their own best interests!" When his handlers told him all of the pitfalls of making Portman his running mate, he went down his list to #2, a guy who was from a State he was hoping to steal and who would make the teabaggers like him. Once again, "If I make a teabagger my running mate, the teabaggers will all love me again!"

It's embarrassing how little depth of thought the Republicans put into things like this. And the fact that they think they can get votes from people simply by offering them a candidate who is "like them" in some superficial way shows you just how little they think of the American voting populace in general.

You will not be the first. Everyone knows Republicans only want a President who can hold a pen, point blank. The very first time Moderate Mitt would try to actually Govern, he will meet the money that put him there. Its no Theory Its FACT. And we have seen political candidate have unexplained or shall we say vague stories of their sudden demise. Paul Ryan is a Heartbeat away from the Presidency. and closer to an Ayn Rand society.NO Theory. This is a Fact. Get the base to the POLLS!!!!Use Early Voting!!!Offer a Ride to someone who is registered even if its family or not. on voting Day or to participate in early voting.Make a phone call to remind family members and friends. Make sure they are prepared with proper documents.Yes We Can go FORWARD!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not being sarcastic about this, either. The GOP is a party where what's on the surface is what matters most.

10. Maybe the first question to be asked is what pool did Romney have to chose from?

The very first requirement, other than that the person be a Republican, it would seem to me would be that the person asked would say yes. There was an entire cadre of clowns who had run in the Primaries that he might have asked, but all of them had either been beaten to a pulp or would not have accepted second place - take Newt for instance.

I don't think anyone wanted to be tied to a loser and those with any clout (read JEB) are hiding out for 2016. With Biden being older than some religions just who do we have waiting in the sidelines for next time around? Rachel reports that Jeb is doing the groundwork for the next election.
