Because the GOP lies, YOU will lose the debates.
Before the first debate, I decided not to watch because I figured it would be just like the Carter-Reagan debate in 1980. In that debate Reagan lied and America has been dying ever since. Are you surprised that the first Obama-Robme debate was any different? According to everyone here on DU, slick Mitt lied. I'm 50 years old and don't have the time or the fortitude to listen to the GOPs lies.
In the debate involving that liar Reagan, they talked a lot about the deficit. It was 70 billion dollars then and after Reagan became president, he forgot about the deficit and gave his Hollywood buddies and corporate pay masters gigantic, permanent tax cuts. He cut benefits for most Americans. The deficit tripled.
Liar Reagan argued that if families can balance their budgets then so should the federal government. This is the great fallacy, a straw-man argument, that has turned our government and the working class into a piggy bank for big business. The sad f'-in fact is that Reagan didn't balance the budget but he increased it and, worse, left those families MUCH further in debt while the wealthy have benefited from this personal debt! Further, the wealthy benefited from the attacks on workers and the lowering of tax rates. Now liar Mitt argues for more of the same. F-that and may Mitt's lies come back to haunt him ten zillions times.
