I read in another thread that Kayleigh McEnaney was indignant that Annie Liebowitz was photographing Jen Psaki, and Melania's erstwhile BFF said she was miffed about what she felt were snubs by Vogue and other magazines. This is one more thing that is sure to set them off. Go, Ella!

"The internet has fallen in love with Vice President Kamala Harriss stylish stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff. Now, they have another reason to be obsessed with the girl who is popularly referred to as the First Daughter of Bushwick.
In her first Vogue photoshoot, Emhoff, 22, revealed a new mullet!

In the playful, quirky shoot photographed by Brianna Capozzi for Vogue, Emhoff wears a fuzzy ribbed yellow cardigan and white-striped dress shirt with a ruffled collar from Celine by Hedi Slimane."...(more, including photo, at link)

(7,282 posts)I like the cut, apparently it's been around for centuries.
One of these moments, I'll search for images for the evolution of the mullet. might be interesting.
wonder if it 'works' for old ladies like me?

(292 posts)Not a fan of the mullet or what looks like a perm from the 80's. I am not personally in love with her. She looks strung out to me in the Instagram clip. I don't like elevating politician's relatives particularly if it is fashion stuff instead of ideas or deeds.

(15,325 posts)I appreciate Ella more because she is true to her career choice and Has NOT used Doug & Kamala's political position to hoist herself into the headlines.
She's a creative artist. NOT suddenly trying to be political.
I think she's probably enjoying her new life as a young woman with her own style & college degree & it's actually encouraging seeing her style as something wearable & clearly trendy & popular with her age demographic of young women.
She's not trying to be anything she wasn't before her dad became 2nd gentleman & her stepmom, Vice President of the USA.
Good for you, Ms Ella Emhoff, & have fun!

(15,325 posts)Watched the Instagram clip & that's not a mullet.
I wore my hair like that (sometime in my many trendy fashion years) I think we called it a shag, but never a mullet. Go figure.
She wears it well however, & for someone her age, She is Adorable.
She has the notice of 2.5 million more followers since the inauguration & growing!
Just for being her quirky sweet self.
"Emhoff, who was an apparel and textiles major at the Parsons School of Design, continues to make big fashion statements on her Instagram. Her posts are often androgynous, boundary-pushing and fearless in their storytelling ranging from rib dresses and housecoats to knit pants, hats and shorts."
The hair was styled by New York City-based hairstylist Masami Hosono, who runs the gender-neutral hair salon Vacancy Project in the East Village. For the shoot, Hosono said they added texture at the top to make it more jellyfish-looking rather than the typical box shape most mullets tend to be.
Everybody used to make fun of mullets, Hosono told Vogue. Now everybody wants one.
.....
Congrats to you Ella Emhoff

(297,323 posts)I wasn't paying that much attention to her hair style.. just her overall presence.
It is more of a shag though then what I know as "mullet".
