(18,486 posts)No need to register or worry about going to the right precinct during certain hours. Just show up at any polling place convenient to us whenever we want and cast our ballot.

(54,408 posts)I was part of a panel at a gathering in the States. The subject was on how to simplify what should be required to be able to vote. I actually got the biggest applause (a rare enough occurrence) when offering my suggestion: if you are a citizen of the United States, you can vote. Period.

(54,408 posts)Nowadays I live on a continent where if not enough rules exist to turn simple things into complicated things, a commission is called into being to make them complicated.

(32,688 posts)Found it means nothing without years of SC interpretations. I could say the Constitution says this, only to hear that's not what the Court says it says.
