all of this RW GOP Trump shit would be over by now. Many would be in jail, quite a few dead of "natural auses" and many more fired from their Federal jobs and NONE of this recount shit would be going on.

(5,770 posts)... and it happened when "liberals" were in control of the agencies?
This seems to be "creative speculation" to me.

(2,692 posts)Thats the problem with democracies like ours: they cannot use against their adversaries (like the GOP) the same strategies and actions that their adversaries would use against them. Its a Walt Kelly-Pogo We have met the enemy and he is us sorta thing.
Hard to be good in a shitty-evil world, but you gotta try.

(6,837 posts)In think he's trying to say our intel agencies perform extra-legal functions. I think that's probably true to some unknown extent. That they do not currently perform these duties under "liberal" direction also seems a reasonable deduction.
The proposition that these intelligence agencies could/would somehow curb Trump and Trumpistas is for posterity to weigh in the light of time's passage, then for scholars of history to determine.

(7,282 posts)It feels like you might be responding to right wing talking points? :
'the liberals in the intel agencies-deep state' bs. ???
I don't know what exactly inspired you to right this, perhaps you might wish to clarify?

(10,624 posts)so this inaction is exactly what you *would* see it liberals were running the show.
In reality, the agencies are probably being run, for the most part, by principled centrists who try to stay apolitical as much as possible. (With a few hardcore conservatives and a handful of liberals sprinkled into the mix as well.)

(14,004 posts)the FBI and CIA tend to lean conservative but most definitely arent the MAGA type. I basically trust them to do a good job.

(146,317 posts)are information gathering organizations, not policy-making ones. They tell administrations the things they discover, but do not act on that information unless ordered to, which is a very rare event.
I suspect, but do not know "damn well" that you are not part of any of those organizations, and are just projecting your own opinions on them. I am no longer part of such organizations, but was at one time.
Administrations make policies. Intelligence agencies provide information to administrations.
You are incorrect. I also don't know you, since you have been here only for a short time. I do know, though, that you are wrong.
