1. McConnell is Manchin's veritable next door neighbor. They're soulmates.

No one should believe Manchin's faux "disappointment" at GOPers who remain faithful to McConnell's "Grim Reaper" act. Manchin regularly takes bites from McConnell's bacon sandwiches.

Both states share a border. Manchin acts like West Virginia has been annexed by Kentucky. He favors an enlarged area of general backwoods stupidity. It's the State of Appalachia run by two Senators and two Republican legislatures. It's hopeless and worthless to imagine any change.

3. Manchin is enabling Jim Crow 2.0, will cause Dems to lose their majorities in 2022

Which means the GOP will install their candidate in 2024 and finish the dismantling of democracy and move toward full blown fascism.

Not sure how high your hopes were for Manchin, but his destructiveness will make the history books.

5. You had high hopes for a Senator who was the deciding vote for Brett Kavenaugh?

That alone should have told us all we needed to know. Time to take him at his word that he will not do a damn thing to help us, and move on to making him and his apprentice Kyrsten irrelevant come 2023 by electing more and better US Senate Democrats in 2022.

wouldn't have successfully fought to reduce federal unemployment benefits in the American Rescue Plan. If he was fighting for his constituents, he would be cheering on and working with Democrats fighting for infrastructure, childcare and healthcare and voting rights, rather than standing in the way throwing grenades at the process. Their is nothing about Joe that is responsive to his constituents actual needs. Their imaginary feelings, maybe, but needs nope.

9. Joe Manchin's $11 Minimum Wage More Popular Than Biden's $15--Among Democrats and Republicans

Are you sure? I think the mistake of many urban progressives is to assume that their views are shared with rural voters. West Virginia’s minimum wage sits at $8.75 an hour, so a jump to $15 an hour would be huge. In contrast, in CA the minimum wage is much closer to $15.

The fact of the matter is that Manchin is representing the views of his constituents, which is how he managed to win in a State that went for Trump.

https://www.newsweek.com/joe-manchins-11-minimum-wage-more-popular-bidens-15among-democrats-republicans-1573489

While progressive Democrats continue to push for the federal minimum wage to be increased to $15 per hour, new polling shows that Senator Joe Manchin's suggestion of a more modest increase to $11 is more popular with both Republicans and Democrats.

President Joe Biden and Democrats campaigned on raising the federal minimum wage to $15, and House Democrats included the wage hike in their version of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan. However, the wage hike looks unlikely to survive in the Senate's version of the bill, as that chamber's parliamentarian ruled it could not be passed through the budget reconciliation process. Meanwhile, GOP Senators Mitt Romney of Utah and Tom Cotton of Arkansas have put forward a proposal to raise the minimum wage to $10 per hour—close to what Manchin has suggested.

The new poll, from Morning Consult and Politico, which was conducted from February 26 to March 1, shows that 71 percent of voters strongly or somewhat support raising the wage to $11 by 2023, compared with just 60 percent who support the hike to $15 by 2025. Even when breaking down the results based on political party, higher percentages of Republicans, Democrats and independents back the more modest increase.

and other technologies since coal is on the decline. Higher wages would help begin to do that. So even in this case, he's not representing their actual needs in my view.

With Manchin and Sinema, there are 52 Republicans and 48 Democrats. Don’t look for anything to change with the Senate in its current makeup.
