Fox News blocked a commercial showing law enforcement officers describing the events of the deadly January 6 Capitol riot that was supposed to air for the first time on Sunday, the creators of the commercial said.

MeidasTouch, a liberal political action committee and creator of the ad, instead took it to Twitter, where it was retweeted by Scott Dworkin of the Democratic Coalition.

"Fox blocked this Meidas ad from airing, because they don't want the truth to ever be on their fake news station," Dworkin tweeted.

Ben Meiselas, one of the co-founders of MeidasTouch, told The Los Angeles Times that he had not expected their ad to be blocked by Fox News, saying none of their previous advertising had been rejected before.

"We couldn't have fathomed in our wildest imaginations that even a Fox News would reject an ad that simply condemns the insurrection, and condemns people who support the insurrection," Meiselas said. "What Fox has really become is a fascist echo chamber gatekeeper for their base."

1. Ok, so take the advert to the cable and satellite companies.

It's my understanding that in return for carrying Fake News, cable/satellite companies can insert their own adverts in the Fake News Network advert breaks. Run in their block instead.

Just as networks give local affiliates a few minutes every hour for local ads, cable networks do the same with local cable systems.

When does Mr. Meiselas imagine it was ever anything else? Wasn't that precisely what it was designed to be?

They can't back both so Fox has chosen for them.

They're just fine with everybody having weapons at their disposal. Weapons which kill cops on a regular basis.

7. Yes but guns never served as a prominent distinction between the two groups unlike the insurrection.

Republicans can always trot out some LEO saying they support every idiot owning a weapon of mass destruction. However, there are no Capitol police (to my knowledge) who support(ed) the insurrection. Thus, the divide between Republicans and the blue in the case being the Capitol police is wide and the Republicans cannot overcome that.

Their credentials as a news org should be pulled and a disclaimer added to all of their opinion shows.

Shit, do it for all news orgs.

Easy to see why Faux Noise wouldn't air it. I hope it gets plenty of play elsewhere.

Watching that made me want to punch Mitch McConnell and all the other Republicans who have been trying to whitewash the insurrection in the face (or somewhere else) really hard. Hypocritical fucking scumbags.
