1. I can't say what I think about this, but it is a lot stronger than "sad."

I don't think my thoughts would be welcome to the "esteemed" Senator, either.

2. Not just sad. It could well be the death knell for American Democracy.

It's possible or even likely that we will become a one party dictatorship like Russia and banana republics since laws to protect democracy will not be passed while laws to ensure a Republican majority are being passed all over the country.

3. There's something wrong with a system that allows a single senator

from a state whose population is politically out of sync with his party, to completely thwart everything the party is trying to accomplish - presumably just so he can get re-elected. It just shouldn't work that way.

doing there ? At a point, you have to get him on record and put it to a vote.
