If he had jut managed to keep it in his pants during an election campaign, we'd have 51 Senate seats and Manchin couldn't singlehandeldy block us.
That asshole's desire for extracurricular nookie may be what ends democracy in this country.

But we did have a chance in Montana, Maine, and NC .
When I think of the massive amount of money that was pissed away in Kentucky, when the Dems in Montana were literally begging for money - it makes my blood boil!
I think we really missed opportunities in Montana and Maine!

(113,065 posts)Schumer met with them both prior to deciding who would get Senatorial Committee support for primary. Jackson wanted to run a grassroots, 100 county campaign. Schumer wanted more conformity. So, Jackson chose to not run against Schumers choice.
No one knew Cunninghams problem, but, still, Cunningham over Jackson? Unbelievably bad instincts, Chuck.

If one party is attempting a fascist power grab, there needs to be an opposition that knows how to fight back effectively. The Rs have been gradually becoming more authoritarian and anti-democratic for decades. The Dems have no excuse at this point.
Hope this doesn't get my post deleted

(2,575 posts)and blame only Democratic for the failure of Voting rights.
The media is all in on gamboling Democratic and Joe Manchin when NO Republicans want voting rights for all, and none want a raise in the minimum wage, another necessity that has been shoved from the dialogue and narrative presented by the media.
It is all about Democratic failure, again, Democratic are weak they are saying, again.

(52,162 posts)NC had many state wide races in 2020, our entire council of state, 3 Supreme Court seats, President, and US Senate. We didn't win a single open seat in any of them. We were 0 for 3 in Supreme Court races (though one was very close), we lost both President and US Senate, and were 4 and 6 in the remaining council of state races. Our 4 winners were all incumbents with strong brands, Cooper won by about 5 lifted by his handling of the pandemic and an opponent who refused to take it seriously, Marshall who won by about 3 or so and has been Secretary of State here since just after the earth cooled, Wood and Stein won by 2 or so and are both well known competent office holders. Cunningham was about middle of the pack or so among our losing candidates.
