MSNBC Host Mehdi Hasan Questions Joe Manchin's Intelligence: 'Just Not Very Bright'
By Christina Zhao On 6/6/21 at 11:32 PM EDT

In an op-ed published Sunday in the Charleston Gazette-Mail, Manchin revealed that he will continue to oppose abolishing the filibuster and vote against the major Democratic voting rights bill. "The truth, I would argue, is that voting and election reform that is done in a partisan manner will all but ensure partisan divisions continue to deepen," he wrote.

The problem with Manchin's refusal to pass the legislation in a partisan manner "is it's already been done in a partisan manner," Hasan said. "At least 14 states have enacted new Republican laws this year, placing restrictions on the casting of ballots out of at least 389 bills as of mid-May in 48 states."

"It's not partisanship, it's not both sides restricting voting or preventing the securing of elections, it's only Republicans. And it is not partisan to want to undo that damage," Hasan said. "Why should federal action be bipartisan when Republican action at a state level is totally partisan? It makes no sense."

"Maybe, as I've said on this show before, Manchin's just not very bright. Maybe simple math is beyond him. Maybe he doesn't understand what's happening at a state level. That may be the most charitable explanation," he said. "I would have loved to have asked him but he's repeatedly turned us down when it comes to an interview."

In West Virginia on his family name. I’ve heard from people who used to live there that the Manchins rule that state. I don’t think he could possibly beat Jim justice

as much as he is inflexible… he’s like a pitbull locked on a bull’s snout that he knows some universal iota of knowledge and he can’t be budged from that belief
or his universe will crumble … sad that he can’t adapt to these changed times

If he left the Party we would lose the majority and Mitch McConnel wins without an election. He would not even need to cheat. Manchin did vote for the Recovery Act which is a setup got further victory in 2022 if we get out the vote. It’s not too smart to jump around on thin ice, dear friends

right now he's revelling in his supposed power of one (Sinema is rapidly morphing into a a even dumber Marjorie Taylor Green)...Manchin is everywhere...tv, social media, print media, dinner table conversation..heady stuff...but he will not switch parties...a not very bright stonewalling Democrat playing footsie with Mitch and the boys allows him to write ridiculous op-eds, but Manchin as a Republican gives him nothing more than 15 minutes of fame before he disappears into the GOP miasma...

If they follow the money I'd bet he's getting bribed by wealthy donors to obstruct all Biden's agenda, unless there's money in it for him. He's a fraud, and corrupted . Hope its looked into .
