Tom Brokaw lectures us to wake up every morning asking

what do I want, not what do I need? You know, like those Medicare "checks" he complained that voters really care about. Don't need those do you, middle class?

What is he willing to do without? What does he really need? Does he really think he can lecture people about this, as if he is living frugally?

He sounds like a tired old hypocritical teabagger.

Just now on the Cycle on MSNBC.

2. He seems to be setting us up for a Romney win.

The reason there is Social Security and Medicare is because society use to think like that. He wants us to go back to the gilded age.

his "greatest generation" book just gave him a very brief transfusion.

that has since passed and now he sounds like a tired old man whose lost touch with reality.

He should just wear a T-Shirt that reads, "get off my lawn!" and have it done with.

He romanticizes the rugged individualism of second world war heroes and totally forgets the critical importance of social programs here and abroad that ended the tyranny of the Axis powers.

He's a has-been and frankly never really could stack up against the likes of Murrow, Cronkite, Sevareid, Huntley, or Brinkley.

10. That's not exactly what he said...

He said a friend of his used to say "we need to wake up each day asking 'What do I need?', rather than 'What do I want?'".

I'm paraphrasing because my DVR only records the past hour for rewinding and his comment was at the very beginning of the recording, so the beginning point of the recording is advancing as I am re-watching his comment, preventing me from backing up the tape a second time. But the quote I provided above is accurate, nonetheless.

12. I need Obamacare to remain in place.

I need help for homeowners, to remain in place. I need those at the top to pay what they were, in the Clinton years. I need honest leadership. I need a government that represents all of the people in our country, including "the 47%". I need to have people who are not worshipers of sociopath, Ayn Rand to run the country. I need a party that will actually protect Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security.

13. Why doesn't he demand his video clips be removed from D'SOUZA's propaganda "2016"?!1

Mr Holier Than Thou is always preaching down to his peers -- Oh, I forgot, he *has* no peers -- about journalism ethics. And NBC demanded that OBAMA PACs not use video of their reporters in campaign commercials. Dish satellite is running ads for "2016" with the main feature being a clip of BROKAW saying, "We don't know anything about him because we didn't ask hard questions."
