The Democrats should redefine their own Family Values.

We went silent on this phrase, when we should have co-opted it. People associate "Family Values" with Republicans. The image of conservatism is defined by it. Essentially it means anti-choice, Christian schools and freedom to use tax dollars for their own tribal desires and wants.

But we also have our own version of family values. Why don't we define what we believe in, and put out PR ads out there? If nothing else, we will be painting a picture of the future of America.

1. It seems like there are attempts to do that

Our family values are linked to making it easier for families to get by and to get ahead. Expecting parents, for example, to work 60 hours a week to hold their position isn't really family values - expecting them to hold down three jobs to make ends meet - doesn't leave a lot of time for playing with and spending time with kids.

You can see an ad with a mom being able to actually have some time off to be with her kids because shes not having to fight so hard to keep afloat; hard for Conservatives to respond to.
