Kid Rock spews homophobic slur at people filming him at Tennessee bar

Kid Rock wasn’t shy about hurling a homophobic slur over the weekend during a diatribe admonishing people who were recording him with their phones.

The outspoken performer, 50, whose real is Robert Ritchie, hit a stage inside the FishLipz Bar and Grill in Smithville, Tenn., and onlookers videoed the "Biker Boyz" actor shouting "f—k your iPhone" before belting the other "f" word at "you f—ing f—s with your iPhones out!!!" according to footage obtained by TMZ.

Rock then motioned to his groin area, and through more profane language encouraged those filming him with their devices to post his appendage.

The gossip outlet reported Monday that security at the establishment went around the room telling people to put their phones down.

And throwing a few of his uninspired lyrics on those tracks and calling it his.

One of his current summertime 'hits' is a blatant ripoff of Warren Zevon's Werewolves in London.

We're his hits. He had a song with Sheryl Crow that did well and All Summer long, which was just a mashup of Swwet Home Alabama and Werewolves of London, did too.

Of course that was all between the late 90s and late 2000s. He hasn't done anything in the past decade and his last single I remember only got played on country radio. He's a washed up has been. If he didn't make news for being a low rent Ted Nugent then we'd all have forgotten about him by now.

A'right. Lemme listen. I feel like this should come back to me. I listened to a lot of radio as a teen. Drove two hours each way to pick my brother up from basic at the naval base.

*listens*

Ok, I do recognize "All Summer". Oh God, I know the lyrics. I started singing along. Bad brain, bad! But . . . this was a hit? Seems bland for what was memorable for me from that time. Someone mentioned "Picture." Apparently that's the one with Sheryl. Lessee.

*listens*

Oh god. I know the lyrics to this, too.

Worse, I loved this song back then. I mean, I really, really loved this song back then. And listening to it now? Still love it. I had no idea this was Kid Rock.

I feel so dirty. Why, Sheryl? =(

Edit: I don't actually care about musician's politics. Just messing around. But this has been a nice revisit. Damn. Still listening to "Picture". It's a good song!

Bleh. Still didn't like it.

I was a younging in jr high and high all about the "alternative" rock, which was just lyrical pop rock at the time. You know, Matchbox 20, Goo Goo Dolls, Better Than Ezra. It was a lot more than that, but those come to mind. Carried it into college when it all went emo rock. Simple Plan and all that, "How could this happen to meeeeeeeee?!" That whiny self-pitying. Checked out around then.

Still like doing it all during karaoke though. I can do a wicked "Inside Out" by Eve6 to this day.

Mainly because I was there to see Metallica and System of a Down. I'm ashamed to say that I kind of liked "Bawwitdaba" or whatever it was and "American Badass" but there is a homophobic line in it that I didn't notice at the time. I don't like him because of his Trumpism, but I did sort of like those 2 songs. Everything else, and he, stinks. From the "Summer Sanitarium" tour that I attended:

And although I do remember Kid Rock's name being mentioned in that area, I had to go to youtube a few years back to actually listen to some of his songs for the first time just to see what all the fuss was about.

Believe me, they're as bad as you think they are. The guy literally has no talent at all. No wonder he turned himself into a right-wing goon squad member. It was the only way he could stay relevant. Fellow 90's stars turned butt of meme jokes The Spice Girls, Vanilla Ice, and Kriss Kross are high art by comparison. At least their songs had good beats, recycled and manufactured that they were.

Kid Rock Repeats Homophobic Slur in Combative Response to Controversial Video

In Kid Rock’s first statement since a video surfaced of him saying a homophobic slur onstage, he used the same slur again in a combative message on social media.

“If Kid Rock using the word f—-t offends you, good chance you are one,” a message on Kid Rock’s Twitter and Facebook reads. “Either way, I know he has a lot of love for his gay friends and I will have a talk with him. Have a nice day.” The message is signed Bob Ritchie, Rock’s birth name.

In a video published Monday (June 7) by TMZ, Rock is seen calling out crowd members filming him at FishLipz Bar & Grill in Smithville, Tennessee, over the weekend when he yells, “You f—ing f—-ts with your iPhones out!” He also sings in the video, “You can post this di– right here,” while grabbing his crotch and looking right at the camera.

Billboard reached out to a rep for Rock on both the video and the new social media message and hadn’t heard back about either by press time.
