Lower any expectations you may harbor that Candy Crowley somehow will be a fair and even-handed moderator tonight. It's just not going to happen.
And if you grind your teeth, try not to do so too harshly. It's just the way she is.
I have watched Candy for many decades and, she just can't help herself to be very hard with Democrats and to go light with Republicans.
Before the catastrophic failure of the Iraqi War, Crowley was rudely dismissive of any serious questioning by Democrats regarding the bloody madness of George Bush and Dick Cheney. During that time, Crowley routinely would smirk revealing her disbelief and disagreement to evidence against making that war. Worse, she would chuckle whenever discussing Doctor and Governor Howard Dean, who was 100% right about the disastrous Iraqi War.
Crowley's record during that period here at the DU earned her the name of "Creepy Crowley".
I always give women the benefit of the doubt over men when it comes to fairness. I know it's illogical probably, but that's just my nature. I trust women by instinct more than men. Maybe it's because I'm a gay man who found far more solace as a disowned teenager with women than with men. I'd like to believe Crowley will be fair, but past is prologue.
So, I will be taking my prescribed Xanax early this evening...not because of anxiety about President Obama (who will do just fine and win in the 2 against 1 event), and not because of Mitt Romney who will lie his ass off from the moment he walks on stage...
It will be because of Candy Crowley.

(53,410 posts)I think she should lose her job because of lack of professionalism. I thought that when she swooned over Bush and made every nasty remark she could against Gore.

It's amazing that she's so full of herself that she's ignoring the requests of both sides to stay out of the way.
Well it might be the end of her career a la Jim Lehrer (we can only hope!)
