just arrived at the air bnb my cousin rented us in Blowing Rock. My doctor said my job is to rest and relax- I'm off work for a month due to stress.
It feels so good to get away. I hope I start feeling better. We're here 4 nights.

I love it here. I'm in SE NC; that's where I live

(7,417 posts)It had a very good Mexican restaurant with a huge outdoor patio in the heart of town and a lovely little park with a gazebo. They were posing for wedding photos by the pond when we were there. Great shops, too.
Where else are you going?
Asheville is the best little hipster town and Valle Crucis has the Mast Farm Inn which is a very nice dinner place. Boone is a super great little college town.
I'm jealous! Have a great relaxing time!!

Love them both.
If you are a meat eater I would like to make a suggestion.

(15,550 posts)Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain, Asheville, Boone, I just love all those places. I have been planning a trip there soon (maybe fall). I used to live in Charlotte and spent many a vacation in the mountains.
I miss being that close to such a beautiful area. So peaceful and gorgeous scenery. If that doesn't reduce your stress nothing will.
Enjoy it!

(10,716 posts)saw boone and grandfather mountain. Ate at The Local in Boone, and went to Mast general store. It's pouring rain, however.

(4,959 posts)You gotta take care of yourself!!
I'm shutting down my business after 8 years of 70+ work weeks and very few breaks. The stress was too much. And me and hubby will be spending a few weeks (at least 2, hopefully 3) in a somewhat remote cabin on a small lake in the New Hampshire woods in September. No TV, no internet, the most high-tech thing there is the washing machine. The only thing we'll have to worry about is making sure we feed ourselves and our 9 month old puppy.
I can't wait!!

(10,716 posts)stress kills. Found out an acquaintance just had a heart attack and was in surgery today. Only 65.
You hubby and puppy have a great time!
