Then again, what if perchance something very positive comes of this.

I can't compute the mindset of Manchin. Some kind of psychology mindset in play?

1) there's no deadline. It's good that he wants bipartisanship but for how long ? No deadline is a win for McConnell.

2) One bad accident or death amongst Senate Democrats and the game is up. Sorry for being stark but Pat Leahys bad turn should have been a wake up call.

Since as far as I can find Manchin has never voiced specifically what about the For the People Act doesn't work for him just that he dislikes it for being nonpartisan.

Should they be negotiating with Republicans then?
