She is an outsider. That's it. No experience, just a status.

Yay! I could be an Astronaut AND the Governor of California.
Eminently qualified for most things, I am.

(26,298 posts)Honestly, she is truly, deeply delusional. Whoopie's facial expressions are priceless.

(33,213 posts)I guess that qualifies me to enter a spelling bee.
Anyway, Jenner has thrown her hat in the ring purely for publicity to keep the brand rolling. No plan. No ideas. No, nothing.

(26,298 posts)She probably has no clue as to what that job actually entails, but dammit, she's the perfect fit.

(33,213 posts)Looking smashing in the Governor's Mansion. Riding around in the State Limo with an arm hanging out the window... "Look at this tennis bracelet, peasants."
Yeah, everything has descended into who someone is rather than a track record of what they've done.
Scary to think, she's a front runner.

(35,446 posts)Californians, vote for me for your Governor. I am such an outsider that I don't even live in your state and have no clue about running any state, let alone the biggest and most vital state in the country.

(26,298 posts)She seems to think that's a good thing. And she refused to say who she believes won the 2020 presidential election.
Honestly, her whole presentation was just sad and pathetic.

(100,105 posts)Oh right, it was a colossal failure! I could have told you that, and I don't have any political science experience!

(26,298 posts)It was, IMHO, just flat out bad.

(66,467 posts)If their candidate profile includes the rather odious assertion: "I'm NOT a politician!", there's no way in Hell I'm voting for them.
Hey, Skippy! If you're running for public office, then you are, by definition, a politician.
And you're definitely not going to convince me to vote for you if you proudly declare that you have no qualifications for the job.

(1,586 posts)She really thinks that GOP voters are going to vote in a transwoman as governor. Especially one with zero experience.

(21,211 posts)And she wants to be Governor.
I am not the smartest person but I sit down at my table and look at the election book and read each proposition and decide.

"Last time, I was young, dumb and full of fun," says Carey, speaking to KABC in Los Angeles on Monday in interview full of porn-y double entendre. "And this time I'm more experienced and I am not going to take this position laying down. I am ready to be on top."

(4,221 posts)the same phrases over and over. She certainly can go on and on, monopolizing the conversation. At least Meghan McCain had a soulmate in trashing Newsom.

You have people like Greene, Tuberville, Gohmert, and I can keep going, but you all get it. You have these idiots walking around saying, "socialism" and trying to be sarcastic about shifting orbits, or not knowing the 3 branches of government, but they are there because they are "shaking" up the system. You have idiots like Jenner who actually think knowing absolutely NOTHING about how government works, is actually a plus. The worst part is that there is a not insignificant, number of people who believe that and who will support it.
On our side, we have AOC, who tweets and fights the social media fight, sometimes receiving criticism. But, ask her to explain her stances and she will give a solid and thorough answer. You may not agree with the stance, but you will know why she has it, what she intends to do about it, and that she has thought out some of the effects of any policy she proposes.
No one is ever really "qualified" to be governor, or Senator, or President, but they have qualities, ideas, and policies that show that they understand the needs of the people and how they might get things done if elected to office. Jenner, and the current crop of Republicans have NONE of those things. For all of the rhetoric about "facts don't care about your feelings", ALL Republicans seem to run on is emotion. They count on riling up the emotions of their followers with buzzwords and memes. No substance, no facts, just feelings.
