(10,053 posts)He does not want it to look like retaliation and we all know that is exactly what the GOP would make it. Somebody needs to do something, and start screaming, people need to know this will not stand.

(18,486 posts)It might be difficult for DOJ to do it because it would essentially be investigating itself and that could be problematic. And a congressional committee could have the complimentary problem. They'll no doubt have hearings, but a full-blown investigation may be difficult for them to do.
A special counsel?
It will be interesting to see how this develops.

(18,486 posts)But the Inspector General of DOJ may be too close to it. And the IG has no prosecutorial powers.

(21,360 posts)but understand this, MF45 left his goons all over government, MF45 is gone but many of his goons remain. Merrick Garland has the job of weeding them out. I was hard on Garland why he didn't intervene in Arizona but he inherited a mess at Justice. He is speaking tomorrow about the election situation, let's give him a chance to respond tomorrow, I guarantee this will come up.

(9,155 posts)Biden needs to implement a total de-Nazification of the government. It was the necessary thing to do in Germany after WWII and it remains necessary right now, right here at home, if we are to avoid another fascist attempt by Trump to seize power.

(21,360 posts)MF45 left a lot of his goons at Justice. Those are the people who need to be subpoenaed and answer questions.

(1,530 posts)N O T H I N G !!!!! NOT A DAMN THING.
Neither Biden nor Merrick Garland has the balls to charge Barr or Sessions with high crimes.
Biden and Garland will shake their heads, proclaim how shocked they are, issue a mealy-mouthed statement, then, move on in the sake of "bipartisanship" or some other bullshit.
