Decided to google my name. Complete, incluidng middle one and... scary

Ended in a site called myLife

First link was to facebook where they got my age and birthdate.

And then they have my full address - OK, we are listed. Also towns where we lived in the past 30 years.

Also got the names of many of my neighbors as with whom "I associate" which was iffy.

"Estimated" my annual income - almost three times higher. "Estimated" my religion - wrong.

Still, scary.

I really really would like to remove my birthdate from Facebok but cannot. I know that many do not have them.

And left the default for January 1. SO every New Year's Day I get a happy birthday notice from all sorts of people, including Facebook.

I do that kind of thing for all sorts of sites that want to verify your age - just give them the year. Facebook has no other info on me - I don't give them anything much to work with other than the pages I follow and some informative articles I post there (mostly news articles I see here).

Then changed but now I cannot even find the date to change!

I wonder whether I can quit and then decide whether I want to sign again.

They keep sending me their magazine and requests for donations. And they always have my address, no matter how many times I've moved.

Strange that they keep putting my maiden name on the mail they send me. I have been married for a couple decades and took my husband's name right away.

Until someone died with my exact same name on 911 (there are only 3 of us in the US with same name). Now I can’t find myself if I wanted to.

There was a sign-up for registering my email addy to receive the ads each week. Fine.

Then, up popped my name, my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and relatives going back to MY great-great grandparents, etc.

I canceled the request.
