The Republican National Committee would consider circumventing major television networks if the presidential debate process is not overhauled, Politico reports.

This was maybe the worst presidential debate in American history ... Trump doesn't play by anyone's rules, even those he's agreed to beforehand ... He interrupted constantly and tried to distract, deflect and interject ... Trump would not urge his followers to remain peaceful as votes are counted ...

(19,201 posts)many Americans have to see and hear the presidential candidates at all. Granted, those Americans are usually dumb shits, but if Trump hadn't imploded last year the election might have had a different, and frightfully unpalatable, outcome.

(3,282 posts)Didn't play any real role in the outcome. Pretty much nothing did. Trump was divisive and everyone basically loved or hated him and they stayed that way.

(19,201 posts)In another post there's a factoid that 43,000 votes in three states made the difference in a second term for MF45 and President Biden's victory. Who's to say MF45's unhinged performance in the first debate was a reason for that number of people changing their minds?
I can't honestly say they did or didn't, but it's a possibility.
