Alex Jones May Get Trump Locked Up By Claiming White House Coordinated 1/6 Attack With Him
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones says that he was in conversations with the Trump White House, and they coordinated the 1/6 attack on the Capitol.

There are two very big ifs here, but if the video is accurate, and Jones is telling the truth, the White House coordinated the 1/6 attack with the insurrectionists.
There are independent reports that appear to support some of Joness claim as Trump White House officials were in contact and coordinating with the domestic terrorists who attacked the Capitol before January 6.
If Joness story is true, and given his relationship with the former president, there are strong indicators that it could be, Trump and his administration tried to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021.
If substantiated, the story could provide enough evidence to lock up members of the Trump administration, Alex Jones, and Donald Trump.

(865 posts)Jones is as full of shit as the day is long. There can be little kernels of truth mixed into his blither, but he is not going to be the key "witness" in any legal proceeding.

(33,643 posts)If so, who paid it?
If they're saying paid that sum for the cost of the rally and such ... someone must've given it to him to use in that fashion because I rather doubt that guy can afford to shell out 1/2 million bucks from his pocket for something like this.
Again, who gave it to him?

(65,134 posts)Even before he started selling snake oil to the rubes, NY Magazine reported that as early as 2013, he was pulling in revenue streams of $10 million/year.
It's more than doubled since then.
It's likely a half million is under 5% of what he's worth, and he could have funneled direct revenues to this purpose.
Now, we're talking 2% or so of one year's revenue.
As disgusting as it may be, he has the resources to have funded this himself. And I'll presume he would, thinking there would be a back end return, like getting lawsuits dismissed & the FDA off his back.

(21,558 posts)that Trump planned the insurrection and that he (Jones) was part of the planning and execution of it. Why would he implicate both Trump and himself?
What he says in the video only indicates coordination for the march to the Capitol. Both men can claim that they never intended or planned for the marchers to make a physical attack on the building, police, or people inside the building. "Just a protest march that got out of hand."
Much as I'd love to see both of those anti democracy scum tried and convicted, I don't see how the words in the video would make that happen.

(3,401 posts)Alex Jones is not a credible source, the only way he could be credible is if he has proof of the $500,000.00 that he was supposedly given.
Another thing, being Jones who he is, with his nose stuck in trump's butt, why would he offer such an incriminating statement?
There is something behind this, I don't know what it is, but it is not credible, and I would love to believe it.

(111,319 posts)Honestly, he's been so far off the rails for so many years, I doubt anyone is paying that much attention to him.
Besides, I didn't see him leading anyone that day. In fact, I didn't see him at all, although I do admit there were a few lookalikes in that particular crowd.
I do hope he's making a few people squirm. I just doubt it's going to come to anything. That ego is pretty spectacular, though.

and he can say or admit to this because of that other instance (i think it was regarding sandy hook) he said (or a judge said) people wouldn't believe him anyway? (maybe it was in the custody case of his kid he was saying his shit is just an act)
anyone got any footage of the secret service leading him out from the front row to where he should start the "march?"

(865 posts)You are right to caveat this story, "but if the video is accurate, and Jones is telling the truth..."
It is possible and even likely there was some coordination by the Trump White House with insurrectionist groups. It is also probable that Alex Jones is an attention whore and encouraged the 6 January attack and then claimed credit just to burnish his street cred with the MAGA idiots that do daily electronic stops at Infowars and Prison Planet.
With Jones it is best to treat everything he says or publishes is a lie. If says the sun is up, you should go outside and check.
He was/is Trump adjacent, or more accurately, Roger Stone adjacent. He was and is involved in whipping up the rubes to get clicks on his websites and sell more supplements and survivalist wallet-emptiers. I guarantee he didn't spend a half million bucks financing the insurrection. He's a grifter, not a a right wing sugar-daddy.
Every time he has appeared in court he gets humiliated and has to admit he's just an entertainer and "exaggerates" for his audience. He would be an absolutely non-credible witness in any inquiry or trial.
His threat is his ability to fire up the worst and stupidest of the right wing fringe. He'll do that no matter who is in the government or who talks to him. He will not go to jail. If necessary he will rat on anybody he has to to avoid consequences. Most likely he doesn't know anything useful anyway.
