Where else among developed countries is the risk of getting randomly shot real (small, but real), where else can a terminal disease take away not only your own future but your familys, where trying to become a better educated citizen will plunge you into a lifetime of debt?
Its honestly embarrassing. We COULD so easily be the best country to live in on earth, but our politicians have higher priorities.

(51,638 posts)Since the 70s the US has been lowering taxes on the rich...look what happened. The greedy, hypoctitical 1% have driven us to new lows as a country. I chose not to have kids and this is one of the main reasons.
