(89,278 posts)2. It was a last minute thing. Anthony Weiner was leading and likely to win until another sexting
thing came out . This was the 2nd time this happened (first was while he was in Congress and 3rd during the 2016 election) .
So people turned to De Blasio because a big issue was stop and frisk and De Blasios wife and kids are black and his son was a target of this so he was able to appeal to people on these issues.
If the sexting thing had not come out Weiner would have won the election for Mayor .
