Biden, Putin Meet for Tense Talks in Geneva
GENEVAPresident Biden met with Russian President Vladimir Putin for a summit in which he is expected to raise a number of thorny issues, from Moscows aggression toward Ukraine to alleged cyberattacks against the U.S.
I hope our meeting will be productive, Mr. Putin said at the 18th-century villa in a park overlooking Lake Geneva where the summit was taking place. He thanked the U.S. president for initiating it and noted that issues between the nations have accumulated.
It is always better to meet face to face, Mr. Biden said, referring to the U.S. and Russia as two great powers.
Both sides have played down the prospects of a thaw in relations, although U.S. officials have suggested some headway could be made on sticking points such as nuclear-arms control.

Biden, Putin conclude talks after roughly three hours
President Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin wrapped up their face-to-face summit after less than four hours of talks on Wednesday in Geneva.
The two men held talks joined only by their closest aides for roughly 90 minutes before moving into an expanded bilateral meeting. The expanded meeting concluded after about two hours, marking the end of the Switzerland summit, a White House official said.
Biden and Putin are scheduled to hold separate press conferences on Wednesday.
Administration officials had predicted the two sides could be in the room for as long as five hours. Biden had been tight-lipped about his exact message for Putin, but told reporters in recent days he planned to raise cyberattacks originating from Russia, Moscow's aggression toward Ukraine and its treatment of dissidents.
