The Geneva talks are over. So, time for a trivia question.

In the book and movie, "The Hunt for Red October," there was a political officer assigned to the Soviet sub. His job was to ensure that the crew remained loyal to the Soviet Union. His rank was second to that of the sub's Captain.

After the Red October gets underway and out to sea, the Captain, Marko Ramius, and the political officer open the safe containing the ship's orders. Capt. Ramius then kills the political officer to keep him from interfering with the defection of Red October to the United States.

Question: What was the name of the political officer?

Answer below....

Answer: Captain Second Rank, Ivan Yurievich Putin.

I'm sure that was just a coincidence. (Or maybe not.)
