demanding that Merrick Garland indict trump.
I mean, WTF. Where's the justice from the Department of Justice? Where's the accountability?
Michael Cohen has already spent jail time for nine incidences of criminality in which he had an "unindicted co-conspirator", which means that that investigation had already found everything it needed to find. Where's the indictment?
And the obstruction of justice in the Mueller investigation, for which hundreds upon hundreds of lawyers signed a letter agreeing that such crimes had been committed and should be prosecuted. Where's the indictment? Where's the justice?

(21,812 posts). . .then demand instant/immediate indictments for Trump and Co.
Garland has only been on the job for several weeks. Please get off his back and let him weed out the Trumpies in the DOJ for starters. Thanks.

No, I don't think so.

(21,812 posts)If so, are you a district leader/precinct captain, canvassing and gathering petitions?
Are you a member of Indivisible? There should be a local chapter where you live, where there's plenty to do on the local level, including turning out the voting on local elections.
Maybe you could be a poll worker, and actually be on the other side of the table when people sign in to vote.
The point is: signing a petition online and going to marches/rallies ain't activism enough.

(68,703 posts)are not spelled out sufficiently to stop someone like Trump. Stop blaming Democrats because Trump defied Presidential norms and abused his office...would bet that it fell just short of breaking the law. Maybe we can bankrupt him with tax stuff but that will happen at the state level and possibly with the IRS. That will take time. I expect Trump gave himself and his worthless kids a secret pardon too.

Care to restate that?
And if trump gave himself a "secret pardon" we're all entitled to know that. ALREADY. Not that such a thing is constitutional in the first place.

(21,812 posts)He's not moving fast enough for you?
He's not judge, jury and executioner for you?
You wanna see public beheadings of Trump officials and feel he's not moving fast enough?
Garland's only been on the job for several weeks. Give him a fucking break, OK?
And BTW, the cases against Trump and Co. are mostly on the state level: New York, Virginia, Georgia, etc.
And if not the criminal cases, then the civil lawsuits.

(5,345 posts)The FEDERAL crimes were committed. They were obvious. Michael Cohen has already spent jail time. Justice delayed is justice denied, and gives opportunity for further ones.
Are you suggesting that because state crimes were committed that Federal crimes should not be prosecuted?
And what makes you think the two indictments I seek are in the works?
And as for your suggestion that I should get involved with activism on a local bodily level, well, you don't know me, but how would that get trump indicted for his FEDERAL crimes. I don't have the power of indictment. Garland does.
DinahMoeHum
(21,812 posts). . .because you wanted indictments and trials right now????
Be. My. Guest.
And BTW, we have a greater chance of seeing Trump and Co. indicted, prosecuted and convicted on the state level. Federal pardons cannot be issued for those.

(58,785 posts)is in itself very mistaken. If his decisions could be influenced that way, he should be removed and replaced with someone of better judgement and integrity. Would you want one of Trump's AGs acting on what a bunch of MAGA yahoos "demanded"?
If you don't like what the Biden administration is doing, why not sign a petition to its head, President Biden? We ELECTED him, and unlike the AG, he's supposed to at least consider what the people expect of him.
