A conversation on the phone with a nutjob today at work

A man called in asking about the availability and price of blue crabs.
I explained why we don’t have any and when we anticipate getting some in.

He still wanted to know the price of a bushel and half bushel.
I explained how the price fluctuates depending on what we pay for them, but I could ballpark some numbers based on previous/average prices we have charged... and also explained that due to the long wait and issues we’ve been having this season, the price will likely be on the higher end.

After I gave him the estimated price range (which he said was lower than he expected), this jackass totally surprised me by saying, “Well, when we throw Biden out of office the prices will be even lower.”

I just hung up. Didn’t trust my tongue to be civil.
It was a normal conversation up until that point, up until he blurted out that craziness.

These people are off their rockers. It’s actually a kinda scary.

Jill Biden appeared alongside the President, and that means she's there to promote the illusion that he's not incapacitated.

This thought didn't just spontaneously originate in his brain.

There's not much difference to them between the national anthem and Donnie's latest lie. They see their job as patriots to parrot either one and to attack anyone who disagrees.

Donnie says it's a bad idea to wear a mask during a pandemic? Ok fine, we'll but only refuse to wear a mask but we'll encourage others to not wear masks as well.

These same people would insist their doctors and nurses wear masks if they needed an operation, of course.

And government requiring pants is fine but government requiring masks is just like the nazis requiring yellow stars.

Most of those people actually aren't idiots (though obviously some are) it's just that they've been trained to not question the directives from the party leaders.

Didn’t his mama tell him you don’t talk religion or politics with strangers?

Oh and not to mention the president has zip to do with the price of crabs.

and after they picked their jaws up off the floor, we decided instead of saying, “what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?” we’ll now say, “what does that have to do with the price of blue crabs in Maryland?”

I've worked with religious narcissists who bragged about their prayers and religious premonitions always being true, which was never put to the test by me because it's a ridiculous notion in the first place. And they were the same people who'd declare that the stock market would crash if any Democrat replaced Trump. Based on nothing, like the inside of their skulls. (Not that the stock market indices are a good reflection of the economic well-being of schmucks like them in the first place.)

As a nation we spend a lot and I mean a lot on education. Put your school district name and add wiki to it and you will find how much is spent per pupil each year. You’ll be shocked.

And this is an example of what we get for that investment.

When I was in middle and high school, we studied propaganda extensively. Did this person not study this?

Effective propaganda reinforces what you want to believe in the first place, so people aren't inclined to think critically about it until they've established themselves as a trustworthy authority. Then it's too late.

Some of the blue crabs have quality control issues, uneven Democratic blue paint and the Biden logo is very fuzzy.

I look like I could be one of them, so I get it often.

I might respond to the above situation something like that with something like this: "Haven't you heard? Biden just signed an executive order making himself president for life."
