General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe Trump Administration was a criminal enterprise.
Perhaps, at first, many Republicans did not know it was a criminal operation? But, they all had to suspect something when he continued doing business out of the White House with total disregard for the emoluments clause of our Constitution.
Eventually, they all knew. And they chose to be part of the enterprise. They have all become criminals. Lying and cheating are the least of their sins.
The purpose of the public trough is to steal from it. Government is nothing to be respected by these folks. It is there for private use.
The crime wave of the last 4 years was unlike anything we have ever seen. We discover something new every day. Those that disregard the crimes are undeserving of any sympathy, and certainly undeserving of anyone's vote.

(33,643 posts)The only thing you can't take is actual money, or items of value. Problem is 'dirt on your opponent' has no definable $ value, ergo, does not run afoul of election laws which are based on definable value. Similarly, the support of bot farms propping you up on Social Media is of nebulous $ value.
There's no laws saying your campaign chair can't share data with a foreign country either.
So, yes, you CAN legally take various forms of help from foreign governments, and even solicit it.
I'm saying this because IT NEEDS FIXED

even if found guilty.
I think only if there could be proof of actual substantive monetary benefits gotten illicitly, would the public, especially Republican voters, even open a second eye lid.

If all we did was just SHOW THE FUCK UP TO VOTE, wed win every time.
Simply because there are more of us than there are of the bad guys (and those who somehow always fall for the lying phony-ass sales pitch).

(70,581 posts)That was the single biggest cause of credit card fraud. After he lost the election Trump
raised 76 million $s for 2 things, Stop the Steal and to help in the Georgia senate races
and of the $76 million Trump kept every penny.

(43,286 posts)When competitors absorbed fight-starting insults and whimpered away? When consultants were hired straight from their eastern European gigs? When Russia was asked to listen? When Paul Ryan revealed the cash flows? When the campaign cash flowed? When arming America was more important than protecting America? When family values were hollow words?
Maybe they were deaf, dumb, and blind. Or they lost their voice to kompromat.

(1,182 posts)that he viewed the U.S. as nothing more than legalized graft. So he decided to get in on the game. Trump was the perfect "get" --someone so vainglorious and corrupt, who could be completely manipulated. Not since Reagan, such a tool as him. (Reagan was just a tool of good 'ol USofA plutocrats).
Mobsters view the government as nothing more than the biggest, toughest gang. Our founders were well aware of such people, hence the Balance of Powers, to try and stem the tide of corruption, by disrupting the total concentration of power into too few hands.
The fact that we actually got him out of office bespeaks a debt of gratitude towards the most oppressed among us, braving their lives to get out and vote.

(32,626 posts)they showed him the steps, they watched, they applauded, and he danced to any tune they played. I'm sure he embarrassed them at times, but not enough to stop the music. The fact that so many Republican-run states are doing dances of their own confirms their last guy was not an anomaly. More like a prototype.
