Job Approval of Biden Steady, Congress Down

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Fifty-six percent of Americans approve of the job President Joe Biden is doing overall, essentially unchanged from 54% in May. Biden's approval rating has averaged 56% since he took office, with his monthly approval ratings straying no more than two percentage points from that level.

Joseph Robinette Biden might not be the hero America deserves but he's the hero it needs.

If Congress approval is down, then the party in control of Congress will suffer losses.

People can still be happy with President Biden, but he's not the one being voted on next year. Congress is. The average voter is too stupid to understand why nothing is getting accomplished by Congress. They're simply going to blame the party that's in "control."

Just my opinion.

Congressional voting is highly correlated with the incumbent president's approval rating. If you approve of the job the president is doing you are much more likely than not to vote for a member of his or her party in congressional races. I am much more concerned with Joe's approval rating than the approval of Congress.

approval rating in November 2002.

Meanwhile, Obama's approval in November 2010 was 45% and we lost seats.

Trump's approval was always underwater and we won in 2018.

This is not how Iowa was 20 years ago. I'm depressed...

Iowa Poll: Majority of Iowans disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing as president

President Joe Biden's approval rating among Iowans is underwater six months into his term in office, with 43% approving of the job he is doing and 52% disapproving in the latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll.

Five percent say they aren't sure.

That's a reversal from the last time the question was asked. In March, by a narrow margin, more Iowans approved of the job Biden, a Democrat, was doing as president (47%) than disapproved (44%).

In the June Iowa Poll, Democrats say they overwhelmingly approve of the job Biden is doing, at 89%. The president’s job performance has the approval of 43% of independents and just 6% of Republicans.

The poll also asked about Vice President Kamala Harris’ job performance. More Iowans disapprove, at 50%, than approve, at 42%. Eight percent aren't sure.

The poll of 807 Iowa adults was conducted June 13-16 by Selzer & Co. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points. . . .

without breaking it into Republicans in Congress and Democrats in Congress. I would give Congress as a whole a lowish rating as I am sick and fing tired of the antics of Republicans in Congress, but that has zero impact on my votes for Democrats in upcoming Congressional races.
