Pallbearer at Elijah Cummings memorial snubs Mitch McConnell in handshake line
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell received a bit of online attention Thursday during a memorial service for Rep. Elijah Cummings when a pallbearer appeared to refuse to shake the Kentucky Republican's hand.

A video posted to Twitter captures the pallbearer, identified in reports as Bobby Rankin, walking down a line and shaking the hands of several lawmakers before ignoring McConnell's hand.

McConnell appears to look somewhat caught off guard and turns to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer near the end of the 16-second video.

Not so proud of my current Rep - Stefanik! This was previously a Democratic district.

She replaced a moderate Democrat, Bill Owens, who retired. I voted for his chosen successor, Aaron Woolf, met him when Bill Owens had a meetup to introduce him and I liked him a lot so I made GOTV calls for him. There have been protests at her headquarters since Stefanik was first elected, but she inexplicably won again. There have been billboards calling for her resignation since last February, this one is close to where I live:

Joe Kennedy when he decided to run for Markey's Senate seat. Dumb move and lost in a landslide. His own district did not vote for him, me included.

Joe was a good Rep. and made a bad decision. Now we have Auchloss (sp) a D turned R to work to re-elect our GOP gov. Then back to D to run. I hate flipfloppers. Oh well we are stuck with him. I will watch what he does. It was a special election so he will be up again in 2022.

Senator Markey is one of the best. It made no sense that a fellow Democrat would challenge him.

And we've been through a lot as well. This was Kirsten Gillibrand's district, NY-20 - which it's been since I was old enough to vote. When Senator Clinton was made Secretary of State, Governor Paterson appointed Congresswoman Gillibrand to take her place. So we also had a special election (2009) and she chose Scott Murphy to succeed her and I not only worked for him, but he was local - lives only a couple of miles away! He was terrific, smart and quite proactive - and since he was local, he'd turn up at campaign headquarters, we got to meet his whole family! And he won the special election, but lost the succeeding one - which I worked on as well. I wish he'd run again, but it's not going to happen - and soon after that we got redistricted, we're now part of NY-21 which extends north to the Canadian border.

One crazy business. Wish some would think a bit before they leap.

Joe's move pissed me off. I really like Markey and frankly...I think Joe is wet behind the ears. Your name alone will not carry you, your actions will.

You all landed on your feet.

And I like Markey, too. He's definitely one of the respected leaders in the Senate - and he's earned it.

And Stefanik does have yet another Democratic challenger his time around - and this one is at least from a place I've been! But even if he wasn't, I'd vote for him anyway, LOL. As I told my friends about the former guy - and they agreed - I'd sooner vote for the next person who drives by!
